Ensure your dental health with our expert root canal treatment, designed to save your natural tooth and alleviate pain effectively.
Root canal treatment, also known as endodontic therapy, is a procedure designed to save a tooth that is severely infected or decayed. The treatment involves removing the damaged or infected pulp from inside the tooth, cleaning and disinfecting the canal, and then filling and sealing it to prevent further infection.
Diagnosis and Preparation:
Our dentist will begin with a thorough examination and X-rays to assess the extent of the infection and plan the treatment.
Cleaning the Canal:
After numbing the area, the dentist will create an opening in the tooth to access the infected pulp. The pulp is carefully removed, and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and disinfected.
Filling and Sealing:
Once cleaned, the canal is filled with a biocompatible material and sealed. A temporary filling is placed to protect the tooth until a permanent crown is made.
Restoration:
In a follow-up visit, a permanent crown is placed on the tooth to restore its function and appearance.
A dental crown, also known as a cap, is often recommended after a root canal to protect the tooth and ensure it can continue to function properly.
With modern anesthesia and techniques, root canal treatment is generally no more painful than a regular filling.
A root canal typically takes one to two visits, each lasting about 30 minutes, depending on the tooth's condition.
Symptoms include severe toothache, prolonged sensitivity to hot or cold, swollen gums, and darkening of the tooth.
Maintain good oral hygiene, avoid chewing hard foods on the treated tooth until it’s fully restored, and follow your dentist's instructions.
